World Rivers Day

World Rivers Day

Do you know what will trigger off World War III?! Severe scarcity of “Fresh Drinking Water” ! A scary prospect but a grim and a harsh reality! On a planet that is covered with 71% water, there is not enough water for consumption! Ironic, but true! World Rivers Day was celebrated by students of Grade III to X on 30th September. Unknown and interesting facts about major rivers in the world and India were shared by students of Grades III to V! Grades VIII to X presented a short but thought-provoking skit on Water Pollution. There were speeches that educated the students on the causes of water Pollution, necessity to safe-guard water bodies and measures to reduce water pollution. Beautiful PPTs on the sacred rivers of India and colourful dances that depicted how rivers are worshipped in India, impressed one and all! Kudos to Ms. Vandana Venugopal and Ms. Meenakshi Chivukula, Assembly In Charges, for organising this eventful Assembly!
