National Farmers’ Day, or Kisan Diwas, is celebrated across the country on December 23 to honour India’s farmers and mark the birth anniversary of the nation’s fifth prime minister, Choudhary Charan Singh. Students of DSE, Manikonda, celebrated Kisan Diwas on 18th December, It’s our way of expressing gratitude to the kisans of the country for their industry and dedication! Students made an effort to understand the challenges that the farmers have to face, the struggles that they have to surmount to see their crop to fruition. But they also had fun because they dressed up like farmers, gave stirring speeches about these unsung heroes, displayed posters made to highlight their importance, expressed respect and support for the farmers! One can certainly claim that the students thought of and sent out silent prayers of gratitude to these fame-deprived heroes who form the backbone of the nation!
