Tuesday, 14th September-this date shall ever remain fresh in the minds and memory of the mentors of the Hindi Department and the history of the School! The Mentors revelled in the grandeur of the ‘Rashtra Basha-Hindi’, for today is the Hindi Diwas! They celebrated the day with ‘Aan, Baan and great Shaan’, speaking about the splendor of the ‘Rashtra Basha’ , that unites all the citizens of the Nation, irrespective of region, religion, caste etc! The concept for the celebration was ‘Navras’. Students donned the mantles of Meera Bai and Kabir and shared world famous ‘Dohe’ of these great personalities. Sreelatha of Grade IX portrayed the Navras through her graceful Bharatha Natyam performance. Meher Parnika and R J Samiha of Grade VIII gave charming performances, depicting the prominence of Hindi. A most innovative Puppet Show depicting the greatness and glory of Hindi, regaled one and all! Students of Grade II looked ravishing, dressed up in the traditional attire of different regions of the nation and posed most appealingly to the strains of, ‘Dil hai chotasa…..’ from the patriotic hit film, ‘Roja’. They didn’t stop with that. Angelic looking boys and girls from grades I and II entertained us most spiritedly as they presented elegant dances to a variety of songs and recited ‘kavitha’. A lovely round of applause for all of you, darling children! Trijoy Pal of II B did a splendid job of reciting ‘Veer Tum Bade Chalo’ by Dwaraka Prasad Maheshwari. It was an absolutely magnificent celebration and a half -hour unforgettable Assembly session! We wait in eager anticipation of the next 14th September when we shall celebrate yet another glorious ‘Hindi Diwas’!
