Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it. Each act of bravery deserves appreciation. When it is the question of national integrity and security, It is all the more special. To honor these acts of bravery and sacrifice by the officers/personnel of the Armed Forces, other lawfully-constituted Forces and Civilians, gallantry awards are announced twice a year on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day. In order to disseminate the details of acts of bravery and the life stories of these brave hearts among the students, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) proposed that school students be motivated to do projects/activities based on gallantry award winners. Accordingly, the Ministry of Education, Department of School Education & Literacy, is organising the Veer Gatha Project. Celebrating these real-life heroes, the students of DSE, Manikonda participated in a variety of activities like painting, poetry writing and paragraph writing for a week during their assembly.
